Every time a new beta is released, developers carefully look for new features that Apple has added. While some changes are not easy to see, others are blatant, as was the case after installing the fifth beta of macOS Sequoia.
Apple adds new wallpaper
If you installed the latest macOS Sequoia beta last night, you probably noticed that after installing the beta, you had a reboot and then a brand new wallpaper that appeared on your Mac screen. Indeed, Apple has added a forest-themed wallpaper (of redwoods) to bring a natural and soothing side to the user experience. It is called Sequoia Sunrise.
The peculiarity of this wallpaper is that it is not present in the macOS Sequoia settings, it is only available in the /System/Library/Desktop Pictures/.wallpapers folder. Is this an oversight on Apple’s part?
Mr. Macinstosh who is an American blogger, made this discovery
and took the opportunity to extract this wallpaper in order to put it up for download on his website.
This new wallpaper will likely be added permanently in upcoming macOS Sequoia betas. Note that it is not available in dark mode at the moment.
