Some users of the WhatsApp beta for Android and iOS can already edit messagesone of the most important innovations that the application has received in recent times.
We were able to test the editing of messages unofficially a couple of months ago but it will no longer be necessary to force activation: the WhatsApp message editing seems to be readyas we have been able to verify, and it works quite well.
Edited messages arrive on WhatsApp
The message editing function almost always causes controversy wherever it arrives and it is possible that history will repeat itself with its arrival on WhatsApp. The app is now activating message editing to some users of their betasboth on iOS and Android, although on iOS activation seems more widespread.
With this function, we have 15 minutes to edit a message we have sent, changing its text to any other and without keeping a record of the previous text. It is ideal, therefore, to correct errors or add clarifications that remain in the pipeline, without having to keep adding more and more messages.

Editing messages in WhatsApp Beta for iOS
To edit a WhatsApp message, we must first select it, with a long touch, and then use the context menu Edit. This shows us a box where we can change the text of the message. The menu Edit appears only for messages that we have written 15 minutes maximum.
When editing a message, appears to other people with the text “Edited” in small, next to the reading marks. There is no indication of exactly when the message was edited.

Although we can’t edit posts ourselves, we will see the edited messages correctly in the latest versions of WhatsApp. That is, we will be able to see an edited message even though we cannot yet edit messages.
After launching in the beta, it would be normal for the editing of messages extends to all users in the next few weeks or months, depending on how the tests go.
