Taking advantage of the start of the school year, Motorola unveils four new smartphones. These are the Edge 40 Neo and three new members of the Moto G family. Sold between 179 euros and 399 euros, these phones offer complete and ambitious technical sheets. A launch that will directly compete with Samsung’s Galaxy A54 5G and Xiaomi’s Redmi. Presentations.
Who presented four smartphones this week? Apple of course. The Cupertino company unveiled the iPhone 15, 15 Plus, 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max on September 12, 2023. But it was not the only one to have planned a complete line-up to liven up the mobile telephony market. There is also Motorola which is returning for this fall with four smartphones. No truly premium model after a busy start to the year between the Razr 40, the Razr 40 Ultra or even Edge 40 Pro. But they do not lack ambition.

The Motorola Edge 40 Neo shakes up the mid-range market
These four smartphones are the Edge 40 Neo and three Moto G which have already been made official in China in August. For those interested in these, we will discuss them in the second part of the article. Indeed, we will start with the Edge 40 Neo, a “lite” version of the Edge 40 presented by the brand during the spring. It will be on sale for the modest sum of 399 euros. For this very aggressive price, you have a smartphone, a charger and a shell made from flaxseed. And if you’re an early adopter, you’ll even get JBL headphones as a gift.

On the technical sheet side, no unpleasant surprises. On the contrary, they are rather good since Motorola aligns with Samsung and its Galaxy A54 5G on many points:

Motorola attacks Redmi with its new Moto G
Now let’s look at the three Moto Gs that accompany the Edge 40 Neo. They are named Moto G14, Moto G54 5G And Moto G84 5G. These are three smartphones which are positioned on the market: Galaxy A from Samsung and Redmi Note from Xiaomi. They will be on sale in France at the price of 179 euros, 229 euros And 299 euros, respectively. They all three have several things in common: a large 6.5-inch flat screen, a 5000 mAh battery, two speakers and a 50 megapixel main photo sensor. So much for the common points.

The Moto G84 has a 120Hz pOLED display, a Snapdragon 695, 5G, 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, a secondary 8 megapixel triple-use photo sensor (panorama, macro, distance) and a 16 megapixel selfie sensor. Its main sensor is stabilized. And it is compatible with 30 watt fast charging. Its strength is obviously to combine a very fluid OLED screen and a stabilized photo module for a price of less than 300 euros.
