Apps there are many. Perhaps too many when looking to simplify and combine many functions in one. and precisely Telegram is much more than a messaging app. Yes, its main virtue is that and let’s say that its other functions are not the most complete in the world, but they are enough to take advantage of it at certain times in an app that I personally open dozens (perhaps hundreds) of times a day.
Music player
I’m a subscriber to Apple Music and therefore have access to a vast catalog of tracks by virtually any major artist. However, I also listen to songs that are not on platformsbeing the majority of musician friends who do not have their songs in this type of service.
Thus, I have a Telegram chat in which there is only me and in which I have sent the entire string of songs from these friends in mp3 format. Like this I can listen to them whenever you want, even with the app in the background. And although the player itself is very basic, it’s enough to go from song to song.
news feed
I often come across interesting news that I can’t stop at the moment. And despite the existence of apps dedicated to it and even having the option to ‘Read later’ in Safari, the truth is that storing them in Telegram makes me much more comfortable for not forgetting about them and having them at hand on any device.
what i do is create a group with myself called “Reading” and go sending the links to the news. When I read them, I remove the links. If I don’t want to lose sight of them once they’ve been read, my way of marking them as favorites is by not deleting the messages.
punctual reminders

in the last few months I have rediscovered the function of scheduling messages in the individual Telegram chat. The one that allows us to send things to ourselves and whose name is ‘Saved Messages’. In fact, when scheduling a message in this chat, it is observed that instead of “schedule message” it says “create a reminder”.
And while I generally bundle my tasks and reminders with Apple’s Reminders app and Microsoft To-Do, mostly for its set repeat features and other options, Telegram helps me a lot for specific reminders like “call So-and-so” or “buy potatoes”. Being Telegram my messaging app, I know that I will see it as soon as it arrives, so there is no fear that it will be forgotten.
Download videos from TikTok

Although it is true that there are shortcuts with which to download TikTok videos on the iPhone, the truth is that I have gotten used to doing it with Telegram, since it offers the possibility of download without watermark. And in a matter of a few seconds.
everything goes through him bot “ttsavebot” (That’s what it’s called and that’s how it should be searched on Telegram). After starting it and choosing our language, we will only have to paste the link of the TikTok video in question and in a few seconds it will appear in the chat, being able to then save it in the iPhone gallery and/or share it with other people through Telegram itself. or any other app.
Last but not least: it is cross-platform

Telegram was not the first, nor is it the only one to have an application on mobile phones, computers and tablets. However, for uses like the ones I am talking about, it is the one that more versatility offers in order to be able to use it at any time.
And it is that, either for work or for my personal use, I combine the iPhone with Android phones, in addition to having two Macs. Being able to have the Telegram app synchronized in all of them makes my routine much easierthus avoiding having to move from one device to another when I want to use the service.
Of course, to give the application a little slap on the wrist, I must say that I really miss the non-existent Telegram app on watchOS. It disappeared at the end of 2022 and, in contact with one of its developers, he confirmed that it was a temporary withdrawal. Months later, it still hasn’t returned to the Apple Watch, so it’s barely useful to me there other than to see and respond to notifications.
