After 7 years, the iPhone 8 Plus’ life is coming to an end. I don’t understand how there are still people who are putting up with it trying to convince themselves that the phone still performs at a good level. But the time that has passed is reason enough to want to change your mobile phone as soon as possible to check the difference with one of the more current models.
At the time it was one of Apple’s most popular phones, but it is obvious that since 2017 technology has evolved a lot and the iPhone 8 Plus has clearly fallen behind compared to the launches. This, together with the fact that the mobile no longer has iOS updates, together with the unquestionable battery problems that the device surely experiences. These are some of the reasons why I consider it essential to change your old iPhone for a newer one.
The iPhone 8 Plus is dead
A couple of days ago I saw a video comparing one of Apple’s first phones with one of its latest and the difference was impressive. The iPhone 8 Plus is outdated and you only have to take a look at the phone to instantly notice this, mainly because the screen does not occupy the entire from the front and even has a button at the bottom like smartphones from 5 years ago or more. In addition, the image quality leaves much to be desired considering that this model does not have Apple’s Super Retina XDR OLED technology to provide a bright, high-definition image with almost non-existent edges.
Another shortcoming of the iPhone 8 Plus is its performance. Back then it was a marvel, but today’s iPhone easily humiliates it. But where you can most notice that the phone has aged is in the battery and in this aspect the iPhone 8 Plus already suffered a lot, so if you haven’t changed the battery I’m sure it lasts less than 10 hours at best…
The iPhone 8 Plus photos were among the best of their time, but when you put them next to those of a much more recent iPhone you will notice the poor quality of the cameras of yesteryear. It is a field that has evolved a lot, especially in terms of Video recording and taking photos at nightwhere the iPhone 8 Plus doesn’t quite cut it at the moment; not to mention that it doesn’t include a telephoto lens (obviously) and I think that’s an essential camera these days. All these shortcomings make the need to change iPhone essential to fully enjoy the Apple experience again.
Recommended models
If you’ve held on to the iPhone 8 Plus for so long, I’m sure you’ll want to stick with the American brand. There are plenty of new iPhones to choose from, though you have to choose wisely to avoid disappointment. Specifically, there are 2 Apple mobiles that we recommend excessively for different reasons and they are the following:
- iPhone 13: This is the most feasible option if you want a relatively new iPhone that is also affordable. It shows powerful performance and brutal photographic results with impeccable recording with cinema mode. The screen is fantastic and it is going to be updated to iOS 18, so it is new and shiny.
- iPhone 15 Pro: Apple’s latest has the best features of the moment, highlighting its absolute power capable of running PlayStation 5 video games. This combined with the new side button to speed up actions and the Dynamic Island to definitively replace the top notch, so we are talking about a considerable level jump.
