The POT has unveiled this weekend to the 16 experts who will study the UFO files, for the next 9 months. His verdict will be made public in 2023.
Of course, at NASA no one uses the word UFO anymore or ufobecause its meaning has been distorted by literature, comics and movies, and everyone associates it with aliens.
Now NASA calls it UAPnamely Unidentified Aerial Phenomenaeither FANI in Spanish. Although throughout history it has studied them in an isolated way, in the future it will do so in a concise and organized way.
To do this, he has brought together a group of 16 experts in unexplained phenomena and space, who will study for 9 months thousands UFO documents and files coming from different sources.
NASA deals with UFOs
At the head of this group of experts is david spergel, president of the Simons Foundation, where he was founding director of its Flatiron Institute for Computational Astrophysics. He has worked on the search for nearby planets and stars, and has measured the age, shape and composition of the universe.
Spergel is one of the key people in establishing the standard model of cosmology. Her name appears as a quote in more than 100,000 publications on the subject.
The rest of the group is made up of scientists, teachers, astronauts, oceanographers, and specialized journalists. You can see the names in the NASA press release. All of them are North Americans or work in universities or companies in the country. A pity that NASA has not taken the opportunity to create a more international team.
“Exploring the unknown in space and in the atmosphere is at the core of who we are at NASA.“explains Thomas Zurbuchen, associate administrator for NASA’s Science Mission Directorate. “Understanding the data we have around unidentified aerial phenomena is critical to helping us draw scientific conclusions about what is happening in our skies.“.
This group of experts will only have access to declassified documents. Its goal is not to focus on individual cases of UFO phenomena, but rather to establish an “instruction manual” for studying these unidentified phenomena.
The POT wants to take seriously UFO phenomenon, UAP or FANI, whatever you want to call it, and that’s why this group of 16 experts they will work for 9 months to figure out the best way to study them, and how to do it.
