The casting director of “The Witcher” has confirmed that a season 5 is indeed in the works. The shooting has even been confirmed.
When Henry Cavill announced his departure from “The Witcher” series after season 3, many Andrzej Sapkowski fans believed that the audiovisual adaptation of the fantasy novel was living its last days on screen. In an interview with Deadline, Sophie Holland, the soap’s casting director, confirmed that Netflix has given its green light for the production of a fifth season of “The Witcher”. This is reassuring for fans of the Witcher, but also for Liam Hemsworth. He will have at least two seasons to forget Henry Cavill.

Ms. Holland reviews topics such as the screenwriters’ strike and the importance of casting agencies in representing diversity. But if there is one subject that arouses the curiosity of journalists and the general public, it is that concerning the future of “The Witcher”. We know it, Liam Hemsworth will reprise the role of the protagonist of the series, but for how long?
The fifth season of “The Witcher” has been confirmed by Netflix
Me Holland reveals that the teams are about to start filming for the fourth season with Liam Hemsworth and they will start the fifth season after a short break. This does not mean that the series will be systematically renewed. Netflix is known for being ruthless with productions that do not meet with the expected success from the first season.

Netflix wants to increase its profitability, and this requires a reduction in “unnecessary” expenses. Although “The Witcher” has many fans, the series cannot claim to have been viewed as many times as “Squid Game” or “Stranger Things”. Not sure therefore that “The Witcher” will be entitled to a season 6 if the audiences are not up to it.
