Manufacturers seem to be trying to fill a growing niche in their product line: monitors and TVs big enough to forget about a second screen. LG has been offering solutions in this market for some time, with its 48-inch C1 televisions or the new 42-inch C2 that arrive in stores this year. However, the firm has decided this time to opt for the gamer community through your first OLED gaming monitor.
LG will launch this new gaming monitor under its UltraGear product linewith a design and aura characteristic of this market and with a series of characteristics that will not leave anyone indifferent.
MicroLED, MiniLED, OLED, QLED… Clearing up the TV TECHNOLOGIES RUDE
A panel with 120 Hz and DisplayPort that rivals current LG OLEDs
Called LG 48GQ900, this monitor hits the market in a 48-inch size and 4K UHD resolution. The panel will be based on your current OLED TVs, also having an anti-reflective coating so as not to interrupt our games. It will offer a response time of 1 ms, with the always reliable pure black and high contrast of LG panels, and also covers 98.5% of the DCI-P3 spectrum for HDR content.
Designed for both consoles and PCs, it will have a native refresh rate of 120 Hz, although it is possible that this figure can be increased to 138 Hz, something that is not yet confirmed by the firm. In addition, of course, it has all the benefits and technologies adapted to gaming, such as VRR, which adapts the native frequency to the frame rate of the video game to achieve greater fluidity.
The monitor offers a ‘borderless’ design, in addition to having integrated speakers. On the back we also find the UltraGear logo illuminated with RGB LEDs, something always characteristic of these products. And among its connections, in addition to HDMI 2.1, this monitor also offers DisplayPortsomething PC users will be more familiar with.
