One of the main problems with multichannel soundbars, and especially those that boast Dolby Atmos sound, is their inability to generate a realistic three-dimensional scene emitting the sound only from the bar itself.
For this reason, more and more manufacturers are betting on add extra speakers to your kits of sound bar with the intention of alleviating this defect by offering true surround sound thanks to the extra speakers installed in the room.
It is just the case of Polk Audiowhich has just announced the arrival for next fall of a new soundbar model, or rather, home theater kitwhich has the bar itself, an external wireless subwoofer and two additional surround speakers.
Polk Audio MagniFi Max AX SR, technical characteristics
is the MagniFi Max AX SRa 7.1.2 channel model compatible with soundtracks Dolby Atmos and DTS:X which has a total of 11 speakers inside, including a dedicated center channel to improve the positioning and understanding of dialogues.
The team has the Stereo Dimensional Array (SDA) technologywhich according to the manufacturer eliminates crosstalk, cross talk or interference between the channels to improve the presence and sound scene in the room.
For this, it is also helped by a generous subwoofer with a size of 10 inches, with driver pointing downwards and Bass Adjust function that allows you to regulate the equalization of the bass to adapt it to the particular situation of each room. The bar’s digital processing system offers dedicated music and film sound modes as well as a specific one to highlight the voices over the rest of the sounds and a mode for night listening.
In terms of connectivity, it offers HDMI with eARCUSB, digital optical input, WiFi, Bluetooth, Apple AirPlay 2, Google Chromecast and Spotify Connect, being compatible with voice control via Alexa.

The new one Polk MagniFi Max AX SR will go on sale in October 2022 for an MSRP of €899.
