According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the man who just revealed the latest details on the Apple Watch 10 and iPhone 16 Pro, don’t expect an AirPods Max 2 or a 4th-generation Apple TV 4K at Apple’s “It’s Glowtime” event on September 9.
AirPods Max 2
In a report Speaking about the upcoming event in three days, Gurman says Apple is still working on a new version of the AirPods Max, with new color options and a USB-C port replacing the Lightning port. While this update has been expected for some time, the current availability of AirPods Max in stock suggests that this new model won’t launch until next year.
Worse, the new AirPods Max is not expected to include the H2 chip, introduced in September 2022, or features like Adaptive Audio. The expected changes are minor, and this refreshed model would still be considered the first generation. An AirPods Max 1.1 in short.
Apple TV 4K 4Gen
Similarly, Apple is developing a new Apple TV 4K, originally slated for release earlier this year. With supplies of the current model stable, Gurman doesn’t think a new version will be coming anytime soon. He also doesn’t say whether Apple will stick with the 4K term or if it plans to add 8K as more TVs become compatible.
The next Apple TV is expected to feature a faster processor than the current A15 Bionic and could start at less than $100, according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. In France, we can expect a minimum of €109, like the HomePod mini.
