The company has announced the launch of “Nothing Chats.”
nothing has announced officially launching a new app called Nothing Chats which will be compatible with iMessage. Under the slogan “Let the blue bubbles appear” the company warns that its messaging application will be available “soon” this month. In this way, Nothing provides a solution to one of the biggest frustrations of Android and iOS users.
Nothing Chats will only be available to users of Nothing Phone (2) and it will come with a trick, since it uses technology Sunbird, an unofficial client for iMessage which debuted last year with more than 10,000 downloads on Android.
Also, to use Nothing Chats Users must sign in with their Apple ID. It has end-to-end encryption, as dictated by Sunbird’s privacy policy.
Nothing presents Nothing Chats
Nothing Chats has support for RCS messaging. Rich Communication Services, for its acronym in English, are part of a messaging protocol that allows you to send messages and share files with a more interactive experience than the traditional SMS protocol.
For its part, Apple refuses to incorporate the RCS protocol into its iMessage chats. Something for which the apple company has been harshly criticized by Google and Samsung.
Nothing Chats app will be available on Nothing Phone (2) starting today November 17 in the United States, the United Kingdom and the European Union.
Hay que abrir ventanas, no levantar muros. Si los servicios de mensajería dividen a los usuarios de los teléfonos, queremos romper esas barreras.
Carl PeiCEO of Nothing, explained that the application will offer support for individual chat conversations and group chat conversations, typing indicators, audio messages and file transfers. Other functions such as indication of received messages, reactions and responses will arrive later.
Apple incorporated a large number of new features in Messages with iOS 17 such as a new minimalist drop-down menu, a button to jump to the first unread message, a function to notify when a user arrives at a destination, sending the location and much more . But the company still does not offer Messages integration on the Android platform.
Since its origins, Nothing aims to be a different, daring, irreverent company. A clear example of this lies in their Nothing Ear (1), one of the most interesting alternatives to the AirPods on the market with an unusual design and great sound quality.
