Tech News Desk –Reliance Jio has brought ‘Jio Space Fiber’ service to connect remote areas of the country. Under this, satellite based Giga Fiber technology has been made available which will connect remote areas. It is a good option for places where it is difficult to provide broadband connectivity through fiber cable. This service will be provided across the country at a very affordable price. Jio has introduced this technology at the India Mobile Congress going on at Pragati Maidan in Delhi from 27 to 29 October.
In India, Geo Space Fiber has been made available at Gir National Park in Gujarat, Korba in Chhattisgarh, Nabarangpur in Orissa and ONGC-Jorhat in Assam. This is the third major technology in the connectivity portfolio of Reliance Jio after Jio Fiber and Jio Air Fiber. SES company’s satellites will be used to provide broadband connectivity in remote areas through geo space fiber. This simply means that the service will now provide multi-gigabit connectivity anywhere and anytime.
Akash Ambani, Chairman, Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited, said, “Jio brought the broadband internet experience to millions of homes and businesses in India for the first time. With GeospaceFiber we will cover millions of unconnected people. “GeospaceFiber will connect everyone, everywhere, to online government, education, health and entertainment services.”
Experts associated with the telecom sector believe that Jio Space Fiber has the potential to do a lot in rural areas. It is extremely economical and reliable. Remote government schools will be able to connect to the internet world through satellite connectivity. There will be significant improvement in the quality of education.
