Buying a new TV for the house can become something very serious, especially if we are talking about high ranges in which the outlay to be made is usually important. So taking advantage of the offer periods is a more than interesting opportunity. Surely the first thing that comes to mind is Black Friday but you may not know that spring is almost as good as “Black Friday” before Christmas… and on top of that without stress with shipments.
In this article we are going to try to clarify several aspects that lead us to give shape to what we have previously stated. Black Friday and spring are great times to switch TVs at a ridiculous price in many cases. Two times with sales that are due to different reasons that we will now see.
The birth: CES in Las Vegas
The life of a television has its origin in the development studies of each brand, but for mortals, the first news reaches us when they are presented each year and the place where new models usually debut and ranges is the CESwhich is held in Las Vegas at the beginning of January, almost coinciding with the Three Kings celebration.
At that time, sometimes for closed groups when they are very exclusive releases, but generally for all attendees, at CES, an electronics fair, we can see the models that will arrive throughout the year that just premiered.
At this last CES in Las Vegas, we were able to see the new models from Sony, LG, Philips, Samsung… now they are coming to market. At that time, the models of the previous year are still current, since the new ones have not yet been put on sale.
black friday
In those we are… waiting for the arrival of the CES to see what each brand will present, but before we have Christmas and a little earlier and as a kick-off, Black Friday arrives. We already know that they are sometimes very powerful offers for clothing, footwear, electronics… and among all this we find TVs.
black friday It is a very good time, perhaps the best, to buy a TV. On the one hand, you can get a television that is not yet a year old, that is very current and that still has about 5 months left as the brand’s top model until the new batch arrives.
And before continuing we are going to make a point to make sure that find the best price or control their evolution, the network offers us different tools to monitor and track the prices of that product that interests us. Some of these examples are add-ons or extensions for browsers, such as Keepa, SaveMoney, Idealo, Baratukin or CamelCamelCamel. These are just a few, but there are more.
But since words can be misleading, it is convenient to give some information. And the best thing is to see the offers that we have verified in some models during Black Friday. Televisions that were presented and that a few months later they fell for a few days in price in a striking way.
In order to put ourselves in context, it is enough to cite examples that we have seen on the last Black Friday, that of 2021. We are going to cite some powerful sales that came onto the market. So we could buy the LG CX at a price of 949 euros in El Corte Inglés, compared to the usual 1,499 euros.
For your part the Sony A90J was on sale at a price of 2,399 euros in its 65-inch version, compared to the usual 2,999 euros, the price at which it can now be found at MediaMarkt. The same thing happened with brands like Philips, which had the 750/12 for sale for 1,329 euros, compared to the usual 1,493.54 euros.
As can be seen, the discounts are interesting and more than one can make you think that is the best time to change your TV or buy a new one. And it’s true, it’s a good time, but is it the only one?
Spring, flowers and televisions
And you do remember, we said that the brands present new ranges in January, within the framework of the CES in Las Vegas. From that moment, until they reach the stores, however, weeks, months pass. Some manufacturers before and others after, begin to launch their new models. In general from April, we will see the new TVs either to buy or enter the reservation period.
A moment in which both brands and sales chains are affected. Department stores, distribution chains and others have to release stock to deal with the new batch of televisions that will arrive at your facilities.
It is a time of year that they take advantage of to launch again very powerful offers. Discounts that as in the previous case, they can even reach 50% of the original price. It depends on each brand, store… but as an example here we leave a few that we have seen these days.
Suffice it to cite a few examples.. We have just seen the LG C1 in 65 inches for 1,295 euros when its launch price was approaching and was close to 2,500 euros. A drop of almost half in less than a year. But it is not the only case and for example the Samsung Neo QLED QN85A that went on sale for about 4,000 euros we have come to see at the Tecnoprecios de El Corte Inglés for 1,699 euros. A price that could be achieved by taking advantage of the 200 euros refund that Samsung made at the time of purchase and to which an additional discount of another 100 euros had to be added thanks to the flat rate of El Corte Inglés Plus that allows for 19.90 euros a year we have free shipping.
That was a one-time offer, but to check how this 85-inch model is still at a bargain price, just go to the Samsung website, where the brand sells it for 2,499 euros, with a discount of 1,500 euros compared to the original price.
And yes, Samsung and LG are the most popular brands, but they are not the only ones with strong discounts. Another example is the Sony XD-55X85J, a television that we saw on sale a few days ago for 719.99 euros instead of 1,199 euros, which is the price at which it came on the market and which is usually out of stock.
Spring, the months of April, May and if we rush June, it is interesting to get hold of a television that is no longer the latest of the latest, true, but that can in most cases (unless you are looking for a technology that has just come out very exclusive) meet your needs. And do it at a reduced price.
Also along the way you have another window if you buy at this time. Any bug or failure that could have output, perhaps it has been corrected with corrective patchesWell, don’t forget that your TV is about a year old, so you won’t have to be a beta tester.
A couple of examples can illustrate this point.. The Sony A90J received the VRR function or, for example, LG released the patch to correct the problems with VRR and dark areas on its 2019 OLED TVs in the middle of 2022.
Even this moment may have a plus to add in certain years. Dates that coincide with the celebration of a World Cup, a European Championship… are times when department stores and online platforms boost discounts even more. Coinciding with the months of May and June, with the arrival of the new models, there are offers to get a new television with the claim of taking advantage of new technologies to obtain superior image quality.
In short, Black Friday is the time indicated by many. Instant massive purchases and powerful discounts, but it is not the only one, as we see. Spring and more if a sporting event arrives in parallel, it is another interesting momentperhaps at the same level, to change or buy a new TV and not incidentally save a significant amount of money.
Punctual offers… that exist exist
Eye, that said all this This does not mean that punctual and powerful offers cannot be given. Both brands and supermarkets and shops regularly launch specific offers and campaigns in which you can get hold of a product at an interesting discount.
Days without VAT at MediaMarkt, 8 days of gold or techno-prices at El Corte Inglés as well as offers at Worten, Amazon Prime Day or the offers launched, for example, at FNAC or PcComponentes are a good example and can occur at any time of the year. It is the reason among others, our Hunting Bargains.
