O2 is preparing for the return to school and on August 18th its new fiber and mobile rates come into effect. And to find out how good Telefónica’s new low-cost offer is, let’s go to compare it with its main rivals.
As a basis for the review of the best fiber and mobile combinations that compete with O2, we will focus on the rates of the main operators that have fiber coverage in 30 million homes or offices, that is, in Digi, Lowi, Simyo and Pepephone.
Because O2’s new offer does not compete with the ultra-low-cost rates that have been making the most noise in recent months from Digi Smart, Lowi Fit or Finetwork, and which are only available to around 10 million homes.
Better fiber rates with more coverage and mobile
O2 has improved several of its mobile tariffs, which allow it to become more attractive compared to cheaper operators, but also in areas such as family tariffs with several mobile lines, or cheap pay-TV offers.
Starting with the simplest combinations, with fiber and a mobile lineDigi continues to lead in most cases when it comes to low prices, but the difference with its rivals is small, and O2 has advantages that we do not see in its competitors, such as landline included with free calls, or free roaming in the United Kingdom. But O2 is also the only one that does not accumulate unused gigabytes.
