It has surely happened to you on more than one occasion: you are watching a series or a movie on your mobile, your tablet or even on your Smart TV, and the dialogues are considerably lower in volume than the rest of the sounds, making it difficult to understand what the characters are saying.
Samsung knows this, and that is why in the most recent version of the Samsung Galaxy operating system, the new One UI 6.1.1they have added a feature to fix this problem, as well as another tool dedicated to audio.
With One UI 6.1.1 we could say goodbye to problems when listening to dialogues in videos
One UI 6.1.1 debuted with the new generation of Samsung foldable phones, that is, with the new Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6This update is expected to start rolling out to more Samsung Galaxy devices very soon, including new features such as more artificial intelligence based functions and more protection against hackers, among others.
However, these are not the only new features of One UI 6.1.1. The mobile technology specialist Mishaal Rahman has discovered two new features dedicated to audio in the new operating system update.
The first is “Boost dialogue”, or amplifying dialogues. This function, as its name indicates, Increase the volume of voices in videos when there are other sounds and background noise, making it easier to hear what people are saying in the video. These improvements work both when listening to the content through headphones and through the mobile speakers.
This is a very interesting feature that is applied at the system level, and solves a problem that is often common in content available on streaming platforms and YouTube, for example. This is why several streaming companies have already implemented their own solutions, including Netflix and its Smart TV app.
The other new feature for audio included in One UI 6.1.1 is “Loudness normalization”, or volume normalizationwhich is designed to prevent the volume of what we are listening from increasing radically and suddenly, or being too low, and this also applies at the system level.
Both new features will be available on all phones that receive One UI 6.1.1. They can be activated from the settings menu, accessing the “Sound and vibration” and finally, to the section “Quality and sound effects“.
