It is estimated that there are more than 100,000 active players in the world. Warhammerthat strategy board game created by Games Workshop years ago and that even today continues to arouse passions, to the point that it even has several video game franchises. And to honor the last Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, ASUS has launched a new card Special Edition graphic that… well, they have only manufactured 20 units for everyoneso imagine how difficult it will be to get one.
In fact, it will be practically impossible for you to buy one, unless you are very lucky and win it in the raffle that ASUS is going to organize in collaboration with AMD and Warhammer, or you find it on eBay later at an exorbitant price. Because yes, this graphics card will not be found in stores, among other things because it would be absurd to “distribute” the 20 units manufactured among all the stores that would like to have it, right?
The most coveted graphic in the world?
Special editions and even more so limited editions are collector’s items, plain and simple. We’re not talking about products that are bought for their functionality, but rather for their exclusivity. In this case, we’re looking at a custom version of an ASUS Radeon RX 7900 XTX TUF Gaming, specifically designed to be raffled off during Gamescom taking place in Cologne, Germany, this week.
ASUS revealed to us at its event yesterday that there are only 20 units worldwide and that no more will be manufactured, although what it has not revealed to us are the complete technical specifications of the graphics card, simply that it is a Radeon RX 7900 XTX which is AMD’s current top-of-the-range graphics card.
This graphics card uses a Navi 31 GPU, with 6,144 Stream Processors and 24GB of GDDR6 VRAM, with a consumption of 355 watts and requires three 8-pin PCIe connectors to operate.
As you can see, the heatsink has a triple fan design and is painted in the usual “ultramarine” blue and gold colors of the Warhammer 40K Space Marines.
As we said, this is not a graphics card that is going to be put up for sale, so this news is more out of curiosity than anything else. We don’t know if the 20 units are going to be raffled off among attendees at this year’s Gamescom, but some of them surely will be (you can see on the promotional poster that they say directly “manufactured exclusively for raffles), and the Gamescom raffle will take place next Friday, August 23rd, although it is true that if you are at the fair you can scan a QR code at the ASUS stand to participate in the raffle (we have done it, if it turns out that we win we will show it to you first hand by doing a review).
What do you think? The truth is that simply because it cannot be bought and only 20 units were manufactured, this is surely the most difficult card to get in the world, which is why its value will be stratospheric among collectors.
