These models, each with their respective 4G and 5G versionsjoin those that make up the OPPO Reno12 series. Both shine for multiple reasons, including their durable finish with All Round Armor Protection which ensures greater durability against impacts, although they hide much more that we will tell you about below.
Two new OPPO Reno12 to lead the mid-range
OPPO Reno12 F and OPPO Reno12 FS are very similar mobiles in every way, where the differences are found in the 4G and 5G models of each one. The new smartphones from the Chinese brand debut Cosmos Ring design on the back with a circular rear camera module that exudes elegance with a halo of light around you that lights up for notifications, calls, charging, music…
The weight is around 187 grams and the thickness depends on the color chosen, although it is around 7.7 mm. In terms of resistance, we must mention the All-Round Armor design that provides protection against falls, scratches and splashes from the hand of the user. IP64 resistance against dust and water.
Both models in the OPPO Reno12 series are equipped with a 120Hz display whose maximum brightness is 2,100 nits at its peak for a crisp, bright and defined image. OPPO’s Splash Touch technology is once again present in these devices to ensure efficient use of the screen even when wet. They also include intelligent eye protection to minimize damage to the user’s vision.
Performance with AI at the helm
AI is the big star of the OPPO Reno12 F and OPPO Reno12 FS. Both include a long list of editing features and functionalities that takes the experience to the next level. Among them are: AI Eraser 2.0 for erasing subjects or unwanted elements from an image; AI Smart Image Matting 2.0 to turn any cutout into a sticker or AI Studio to turn a portrait photo into a virtual avatar. There are also a number of other AI functions in OPPO’s new phones that are focused on productivity and improving the owner’s day-to-day life with some of the following options:
- AI Remembering Summary: Processes voice recordings and summarizes the most important points.
- AI Writer: write emails, biographies, text for social networks…
- AI Summary: make a summary of any paragraph or text.
- AI Speak: read articles or text aloud.
The photos are guaranteed by a triple camera system led by a 50 MP main8MP ultra-wide angle and 2MP macro. Both OPPO Reno12 F and OPPO Reno12 FS share this set of sensors, as well as the 32MP front camera. A series of lenses that seek sharp and natural results. It also stands out for a wide number of image modes, of which the one I like the most is the Pro Portrait mode for flawless blur of the subject using the hand and macro cameras simultaneously.
One of the few differences between the two new OPPO phones has to do with the processor that uses the 4G and 5G version of each one. OPPO Reno12 F and OPPO Reno12 FS in their 4G models use a chipset Snapdragon 685 of humble performance along with a configuration of 8 + 256 GB in the case of the first and 8 + 512 GB as regards the second. On the other hand, the 5G versions of the smartphones incorporate a Dimensity 6300 processor which improves the power and efficiency of the phone. In terms of battery, both are equipped with a 5,000 mAh capacity cell, as is usual in the mid-range. The surprise here has to do with OPPO’s SUPERVOOC fast charging, which charges the phone to 100% in about an hour.
