Do you have any of the Orange rates and have access to television? If you are going to watch TV beyond the phone, you now have a new way to activate the session: via a QR codeOrange TV joins many other streaming platforms that have activated simplified login using a smartphone.
This week I set up a new Android TV player on my TV. As is the case with every new startup, I had to download each and every one of my streaming apps from Google Play. Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime Video… And of course, I had to configure each and every one, a tedious task that previously took several minutes per platform at the cost of typing letter by letter from the remote control. That ended.
Simplified login is coming to Orange TV
Streaming platforms have teamed up with smartphones and cameras to make it super easy to sign up for apps. Do I already have an account or do I need a new one? A QR code appears on the TV or computer screen. When you capture it with your phone, the QR code takes you to the platform’s page where you can enter your credentials.
As Masorange has communicated in an article on his blog, Orange TV has incorporated login by QR code to facilitate access to the service on any compatible device. Personal computers, Smart TVs, multimedia players… Logging in to any of them is a matter of a couple of steps:
- You will see a QR appear on your TV screen.
- Point your smartphone camera at the QR code. The Orange TV home page will open.
- Fill in the credentials with your user data and accept the login.
- You probably already had the data stored on your phone: just accept loading it from the safe and that’s it.
- This start will be transferred from the smartphone to the device you are activating. Without doing anything else and automatically.
This new feature, already active on Orange TV, avoids on-screen virtual keyboards and typing with the remote control. And without losing the traditional login: Whoever wants to go character by character just has to click on the right side of the screen, on “Login”.
