Mentions of Outlook will appear in a notification panel
According to the Microsoft 365 roadmap page, Microsoft is actively working on a new notification panel for Outlook users on Windows. The new notification panel is being developed with the purpose of help users stay connected with user-centric updates. That is, the notification panel will house all important updates, including @mentions.
Although we are not familiar with the user interface, the new place where we will find all our @mentions could be opened from any side of the screen. It could be very similar to panel “My day” Outlook. We’ll know all this soon when Microsoft releases the feature.
As for when it will be available, Microsoft says that the notification panel will be available to Office Insiders in the Current Channel on Windows desktopand that general availability will occur in June. However, it should be noted that Microsoft could change its plans and delay the launch to a later date. The company has done it before, so we can’t rule out the possibility.
Do you consider the arrival of a notification panel for Outlook mentions interesting or should it integrate better with Windows 10 and Windows 11. In the end we have many notification areas instead of a single space as it should be.
