Netflix subscribers are (finally) entitled to an excellent game with Oxenfree. After a timid start last year, the American giant has doubled down on its Netflix Games service by promising 50 games by the end of the year. And the latest titles that we have seen reinforce its credibility, as evidenced by Oxenfree, a game released in 2017.
Netflix offers Oxenfree to its subscribers
Exclusively reserved for Netflix subscribers, Oxenfree is no longer available in its initial form on the App Store, a blow for players who were waiting in particular for an update to remove black bands and exploit the screens of iPhone X and above.
A night of partying turns supernatural for the high school students at Camena High. Unravel the mysteries of a spectral rift in this choice-defining thriller. Alex is a clever and rebellious teenager who goes to party on a disused military island with her new half-brother, Jonas. Their end-of-year party takes a terrifying turn when Alex uncovers the island’s mysterious past, in this WWII-inspired tale that GamesBeat calls “the new standard in adventure games.”
Watch the video trailer:
First appearing on consoles, Oxenfree was made by alumni of TellTale and Disney and offers a thrilling adventure that imprints on Silent Hill, This War of Mine, The Cave and other The Walking Dead.
Sign Night School Studio, Oxenfree is a paranormal adventure game where your choices will greatly influence the course. You play Alex who lands on an island not listed by tour operators.
With a visual and sound atmosphere as sublime as it is distressing, this “novelty” offers an exciting story with right dialogues (in English) and above all important for the adventure. No downtime, we remain glued from start to finish.
On the lifespan side, it takes about 5 hours to reach the end, but the replayability offered by the different endings allows you to come back several times.
The +:
- A gripping story
- A quality achievement
- A renewed concept of survival horror
