That’s it, French internet users and viewers can finally discover Paramount+, the new challenger on the streaming scene. The platform can boast of diverse content, from classic films from production studios to cult Showtime series. Here is everything you need to know for the occasion.

It took many months after its launch in the United States before seeing Paramount + land on the French airwaves, but it is now done. This Thursday, December 1, the cinema giant is launching its own streaming platform, without hiding its ambition to compete with the big names in the sector such as Netflix, Disney + and Prime Video. He thus cuts the quid to HBO Max, which is still slow to arrive in our regions.

From today, it is therefore possible to take out a subscription for the modest sum of €7.99 per month. This is slightly less than Disney + and Netflix, both at € 8.99 per month if we do not take into account the formula with advertisements of the latter. Note, however, that at this price, users will not be able to watch their films and series in 4K, unlike these competitors. For now, only Full HD quality is available.

Paramount+ unveils its catalog for its launch in France

The prices revealed, now remains to look at the most important: the content. On this side, Paramount + benefits from the many properties of the studio, as well as American TV channels such as MTV, CBS, Showtime or Nickelodeon. The whole gives a rather heterogeneous catalog, which contains great classics of cinema such as Grease, Scream or Top Gun, as well as cult series like South Park, NCIS and Star Trek.

On the same subject: Universal+ should arrive in France before the holiday season

Something to satisfy the whole family, especially since many comics, like SpongeBob SquarePants, are also available on the platform. For gamers, we remind you that the Halo series is also part of the catalog. Finally, if you are an Orange TV subscriber, you can take advantage of two months free today by going to cal 69 on your decoder.
