Everything indicates that 2023 will be the year in which we finally see Apple’s augmented reality glasses, also known as apple glass. Proof of this are the rumors that indicate a close launch, as well as the multiple leaks about features and technical details. The latest news about this next device, however, goes a little further. Some images have appeared showing some of the internal components of this viewer.

The photographs of the components of Apple’s augmented reality glasses, in particular, have been leaked by an anonymous Twitter user, who, according to macrumoursusually shares “accurate information” of Apple components.

They show what they appear to be tapes that will surround the edge of the lenses and which will be used to connect display components to a board. Another of the images shows a strip with different cameras or sensors that could be aimed at recognizing facial expressions or the environment.

Unfortunately, the user does not seem to have shared images of the chassis of the glasses, so it is difficult to know what its design will be like. The rounded shape of the ribbon, however, seems to reveal that the Apple Glass will have a circular design., although they might not necessarily inherit the appearance of conventional glasses. In fact, some renders show a helmet more similar to the Meta Quest.

The design team advised against launching Apple glasses this year

Curiously, hours before these images appeared on the web, Financial Times It revealed that members of the project advised against announcing Apple Glass during 2023. The reason? Concerns for its design. The Cupertino firm’s design team suggested waiting until they had lighter glasses ready.

Tim Cook and Jeff Williams, Apple’s chief operating officer, however, they pressured the team to have a first version ready this year with a design less similar to that of traditional glasses.

At the moment, the release date of the Apple Glass is unknown, but it is likely that we will see the first official details during WWDC 2023, which could be held during the month of June.
