Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has announced new features for WhatsApp on Tuesday. With the new feature, admins can have more control over who can join groups and which groups you’re in with anyone. Apart from this, Zuckerberg has also introduced many features on his Instagram broadcast channel.
WhatsApp said that the upcoming updates will give admins more control over their group privacy, which means that admins can decide who can join the group and who can’t. Admin will have option to share their group invite URL or make their group eligible to join any community. WhatsApp says that groups are where people have some of their most private conversations and therefore it is important that administrators can easily decide who can and cannot be in a group. Apart from this, talking about other features, in which groups users share with known people.
“With the growth of communities and their larger groups, we want to make it easier to discover which groups you have in common with anyone,” WhatsApp said. Now you can easily search for a contact’s name if you want to see groups you’re both in. According to the report, two new features will be rolling out to WhatsApp users around the world in the coming weeks.
Apart from this, in a recent update, WhatsApp has introduced text detection feature for iOS. This feature enables users to extract text from images shared on WhatsApp. Under this feature, users have to open an image that contains text and they will see a new button that lets them copy the text from the photo.
