POCO renews its top-of-the-range mobiles with the POCO F5 and POCO F5 Pro, two models that offer power in abundance, good autonomy and a price within the reach of many pockets.
POCO was born as a response from Xiaomi to mobiles like the OnePlus, flagship killers who bet on a top-tier hardware at a very reasonable price.
Over time, Xiaomi has been polishing its brand to give it its own style and identity, adding good design to the equation, but maintaining that transgressive spirit that allowed it to integrate a powerful hardware for gaming or run demanding apps, without price being an insurmountable barrier.
The new F5 range of 2023 It comes with two terminals that are committed to a differential design, powerful hardware, first-rate photographic features and fast charging.
He LITTLE F5 Pro is positioned as the F5 series flagship of 2023 going one step further in the benefits of the reference model, which in return, opts for a new white finish that will leave you frozen.
POCO F5, the reference model arrives with the new Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 processor
One of the main novelties that we find in the POCO F5 is the premiere of the 4nm fab Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 processorRich by TSMC that offers the best performance power ratio and 5G connectivity.
At the power level and based on the AnTuTu scores that the brand has shown in its presentation, this new processor would be at the performance level of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, but with better temperature management thanks to the second generation of the Liquid Cool 2.0 technology that improves the cooling of the terminal with a vapor chamber while playing.
This processor will arrive supported by 8 or 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB internal storage with UFS 3.1 technology, assuming a step forward in the memory configuration of the terminal. The POCO F5 arrives driven by the operating system MIUI 14 for POCO based on Android 13.
On the front we find a 6.67” Flow AMOLED screen with Full HD+ resolution, HDR Dolby Vision and a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz, which delivers a peak brightness of up to 1,000 nits. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 glass and shows off very well used frames, leaving a ratio of 93.4% of the front.
In the photographic section, the POCO F5 is committed to a triple camera configuration in the form of an island that includes a 64 Mpx main sensor with f/1.79 aperture and optical image stabilizer, an ultra-wide angle of 8 Mpx with aperture f / 2.2 and one 2MP Macro camera. On the front mounts a camera 16 Mpx with aperture f / 2.45.
Regarding autonomy, the new F5 from POCO integrates a 5,000mAh battery with 67W fast charging and charger of the same power included in the box. According to the brand, with this power the POCO F5 would be able to recover 50% of its charge in about 15 minutes. However, wireless charging is left out.
The sound is covered by a double stereo speaker with support for Dolby Atmos and, as a curious note, incorporates a 3.5mm jack to connect wired headphones and enjoy the best quality sound without latency.
POCO F5 Pro, more power, wireless charging
For his part, he LITTLE F5 Pro bet for a performance more typical of the high range equipping a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor that gave us so much joy in the mobiles that we were able to test in 2022.
One of the main improvements that Qualcomm applied in this optimization of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is more moderate power consumption and, above all, better temperature management. In this sense, the POCO F5 Pro goes a little further by incorporating an oversized vapor chamber with Liquid Cool 2.0 technology that improves the cooling of the mobile.
In the case of the F5 Pro, POCO provides three different configurations with 8 and 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAMand 256 or 512 GB of internal storage with UFS 3.1 technologycomplemented by an operating system MIUI 14 For POCO with Android 13.
the screen is 6.67-inch Flow AMOLED with WQHD+ resolution (3,200 x 1,440 pixels) with a 120 Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of up to 1,400 nits compatible with Doby Vision and HDR10 +. All this is protected by an armored glass Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
The POCO F5 Pro repeats the same photographic values as in the reference model, but It is neither the same sensor nor do they offer the same performance. The main camera of the F5 Pro mounts a main sensor of 64 Mpx with aperture f / 1.79 and optical stabilizer, ultra-wide-angle camera 8 Mpx with aperture f / 2.2 and 2MP macro. The selfie camera is 16 Mpx with aperture f / 2.45.
Another important difference between the POCO F5 and the F5 Pro is found in its battery. The POCO F5 Pro mounts a 5,160mAh battery with 67W fast charging and charger included in the box, plus a 30W wireless fast charge.
