One more year, Poco has renewed two of the most interesting smartphones in its catalogue. The brand owned by Xiaomi has announced the Little X5 and X5 Protwo new models that include some of the best features that we have already seen in their predecessors, but that arrive with a somewhat renewed design, new processors, improvements in autonomy and, as a star feature, a price of less than 400 euros in the variants with more RAM and storage capacity.
The new Poco X5 and X5 Pro, precisely, share many of its characteristics. Both models include the same screen. We therefore find ourselves with a 6.67-inch AMOLED panel with Full HD+ resolution (2400 x 1800 pixels) which also has a frequency of up to 120 Hz. The screen also works thanks to a 5,000 mAh battery; a capacity that applies to both the base model and the Plus version.
There are, however, small differences in some extra features related to the screen and the battery. The Poco X5, for example, has Gorilla Glass 3, while the Poco X5 Pro has a panel covered in Gorilla Glass 5. The base version also has a 1200 nits peak brightness compared to the 900 nits of the Pro version. This latest model, yes, is equipped with stereo sound.
The loading speed is also different in each version. The Poco X5 5G features a 33W charger, which allows supplying 100% battery in just over an hour. The Poco X5 Pro 5G, for its part, includes a 67W charger capable of charging 30% of the battery in 7 minutes, the company says.
Qualcomm processor and a camera of up to 108 megapixels
Where we start to see major differences is in the area of performance and camera. Starting with power, the Poco X5 is equipped with a Snapdragon 695 SoC from the American Qualcomm. It is, curiously, the same one that includes the Poco X4 Pro. The Poco X5 Pro, on the other hand, bets on the Snapdragon 778Gprocessor that, according to the company, also offers improvements in camera performance.
Both the Poco X5 and the Poco X5 Pro, on the other hand, feature a 6 GB base RAM and a storage that starts from 125 GB. The most powerful variants include 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage in both cases.
Regarding the cameras, the two new models of the X5 series have a triple lens with a very similar configuration and with one main difference: the primary sensor.
The Poco X5, for example, bets on a 48-megapixel wide-angle camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor, and a 2-megapixel macro camera. The primary sensor of the Poco X5 Pro, on the other hand, is 108 megapixels, and keeps the rest of the sensors that we see in his brother less. That is, the 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera and the 2-megapixel macro sensor, for short-range photos.
Price and availability of the new Poco X5 and Poco X5 Pro
The Poco X5 and X5 Pro are available from today, February 6, in the Xiaomi online store, on Amazon, and through the MediaMarkt website. They arrive in 3 different colors: black, blue and yellow, and, we reiterate, in a configuration of 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage and 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal memory.
In addition, and as a launch promotion, the two smartphones will be available for 50 euros less than their usual price for one week. That is, until February 13. These are the prices of the different variants.
