Arlo has renewed its range of surveillance cameras and announces the imminent launch of a new model. It’s about the Arlo Pro 5, the continuation of the Arlo Pro 4 that we already know in which the manufacturer has made some improvements to optimize the operation and in which, in addition, the same price is maintained as in its predecessor.
A new model that maintains the aesthetics that we already know from previous generations, but in which a new sensor is hidden inside that will significantly improve the vision of what the camera records. You cannot miss other common features in this type of device which we now review.
More and better but without raising the price
And it is that the Arlo Pro 5 is a camera that, under the same appearance, hides a significant improvement in terms of hardware. This model mounts a 12-bit sensor, instead of the 10-bit sensor of the previous model. This means that it offers a wider color palette that reaches 68 billion, which improves image quality, even in low light conditions, or when using night vision.
From the rest of the specifications, it should be noted that this model supports 2K resolution even in IR-based night vision. In addition, it has a 12x zoom, support for HDR, motion detection, communication, bidirectional, so that we can talk to the person on the other side of the camera, a battery that offers 30% more autonomy than the previous model, integrated lighting system capable of illuminating up to 7 meters, or integrated alarm.
It admits, as we already said, 2K resolution and can be activated by motion or sound. In addition, you cannot miss the control through the application from the mobile with the corresponding Arlo Secure app.
In the connectivity section, the new model is compatible with both 2.4 and 5 GHz networksas well as being compatible with Arlo SmartHub, so it can be used independently or integrated into the connected home ecosystem with other compatible devices.
Besides, you can access different functions that improve performance from the camera using Arlo Secure, although a subscription will be required. This is the case of access to videos stored in the cloud.
Price and availability
The Arlo Pro 5 will maintain the price that we already saw in the Arlo Pro 4, which translates into 249.99 euros for a single camera.
