On the night of Thursday to last Friday, we learned with amazement that Pepsi was no longer the main sponsor of the Super Bowl halftime show in the United States. The NFL said in a press release that the agreement has now been signed with the music streaming service: Apple Music. Today we learn more about the artist who will perform on stage for the 2023 edition of the Super Bowl Halftime Show.
Apple Music trusts Rihanna
Less than a week after the announcement of the partnership with the NFL, Apple Music today revealed on Twitter the artist who will be present for theApple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show. For this first show as main sponsor, the Cupertino company has favored a safe bet which is enormously appreciated in the United States and in the rest of the world, the Barbadian artist Rihanna.
Even if Rihanna’s musical news is not recent (last album dates from 2016), she has many timeless classics which will be performed during the 15 minute show. Apple does not say so, but it cannot be ruled out that Rihanna is joined by other artists during her performance.
The 2023 edition of the Super Bowl will take place on 12 February with a live broadcast in the United States on NBC and the Peacock streaming service. In France, the broadcast should go to beIN Sport, which has already broadcast the event live several times in the past.
The amount of the agreement between Apple and the NFL has not been disclosed, but according to some indiscretions, it could be between 50 and 70 million dollars. This gigantic sum is not as large as you think, especially when you know that the Super Bowl 2022 attracted 112.3 million viewers (only in the United States), for Apple Music the visibility will be extraordinary!
