We are still in the throes of the first Unpacked of 2024, a lavish event that left us three phones that aspire to dominate the market: the Samsung Galaxy S24, Samsung Galaxy S24+ and Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra. The most highlighted aspect by the brand was Galaxy AI, the new compendium of tools based on Artificial Intelligence on which the user experience revolves. The problem is that this experience is only guaranteed for two years: then you will have to pay for it.

And the AI, which first tests we have carried out on the phones They showed remarkable usefulness for the tools. That is why we are surprised that they are only guaranteed for two years.

At the update guarantee level, the three recently presented Samsung Galaxy S24 will receive 7 stable versions of Android throughout its useful life. Samsung equates its mobile phones to Google Pixel 8, the first to guarantee such an extensive period of time: the S24s are guaranteed Android 21 (if it is finally called that). Of course, this guarantee is free and is included in the price of the mobile phones, which are not exactly cheap. The complete opposite of Artificial Intelligence.
As can be read on the official Samsung page, right in the small print in the lower area, the AI of the Galaxy S24 will be free until the end of 2025. That is, the exclusive tools that serve as a sales argument for the phones, and that are included in your price, they will need an additional payment to continue using them after the marked date.
According to Samsung's official statement:
Artificial Intelligence functionalities will be free until the end of 2025 on Samsung Galaxy devices
The company does not guarantee that AI tools will be free after the date. It doesn't specify whether all of Galaxy AI will be affected by the strategy or just those tools developed exclusively for the phone: a good portion of the AI, like Circle to Search, will be shared by other Android. We do not know if continuing to access the AI on the Galaxy S24 will involve a one-time payment or a subscription, although it is most likely the second case.
We have approached Samsung to convey our doubts regarding the payment model to the company, and at the moment they have not been able to give us clarifications. They did send us the following statement corroborating the information indicated on the pre-sale website.
