Comparison of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6 and Z Flip5, by sections
Design and screens
At first glance, the external design of both phones does not vary much, with one “small” exception: The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6 has a brushed aluminum construction and has straight edgessomething we didn’t see in its previous generation, but we did see in other phones like the Galaxy S24 Ultra or the new Galaxy Z Fold6. Beyond these particularities, we’re talking about two practically identical phones, with no major aesthetic changes.
Where we do find a big change is in its internal screen, since in this case, in the Galaxy Z Flip6, we are talking about a screen that improvement in both the brightness level and compatibility with HDR10 and HDR10+ formatsHowever, neither phone supports Dolby Vision.
However, we cannot say too much about the external screen – at least, not that we have already said on other occasions – since We find the same screen as in the previous generationThe external screen is very decent, but hasn’t changed at all: its refresh rate is 60 Hz and apps like WhatsApp or Google Maps can be used.
Battery and autonomy
One of the negative points of the Galaxy Z Flip5 was its battery, which only offered enough autonomy to last a full day. But with this new generation this has been solved to a certain extent, since the battery has a greater capacity (4,000 vs 3,700 mAh).
Compared to the Galaxy Z Flip5’s limited autonomy to get through the day, The Galaxy Z Flip6 can last a few more hoursthus allowing us to have an extra charge on the phone once the day is over. Of course, this depends largely on how we use the phone and, in particular, on the applications or functions we use.
Cameras
The photographic section has also evolved with respect to the previous generation. In this case we find a substantial improvement in resolution, whose main sensor has 50 MP compared to the 12 MP of the Galaxy Z Flip5But that’s not the only improvement, as image processing is also better in this latest generation.
However, if the rear camera has undergone a great change between the two generations, we cannot say the same about the front camera: in both phones we are going to find a 10 MP f/2.2 front camera.
Why choose the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6
The new generation of the Z Flip has introduced new features compared to the previous generation. Its price starts at 1,209 euros in its configuration with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of internal storage, and where it stands out the most is in:
- Its battery and autonomyThe Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 barely reaches a full day of autonomy, something that has been improved with the new generation, as it has a slightly larger battery (4,000 compared to 3,700 mAh) and an autonomy that can easily last a full day.
- Your rear camera. Although both phones don’t have the best cameras on the market, the Z Flip6 is a step above the Z Flip5. Partly because of its resolution (50 versus 12 MP), but also because of its image processing.
- Internal screenWhile the external display hasn’t changed, the screen does have a few new features. The Galaxy Z Flip6 has improved brightness and supports HDR10 and HDR10+.
