One of the main mantras of the Samsung One UI 5 (Android 13) interface is customization. This is pushed that to calls, where the screen can adapt depending on who you have on the other end of the line.
Until now, One UI allowed the use of call wallpapers in very limited quantities. With this new version, the Samsung interface based on Android 13 goes further by allowing you to select any photos or videos stored on your smartphone as wallpaper. Here is how to customize calls on One UI 5.
How to customize calls on One UI 5?
To start, enter your contacts, then:
- Select a contact for whom you want to customize the wallpaper.
- Tap the icon I then on the tab at the bottom of the page Edit.

Press on More for more options and scroll to the very bottom of the list. You can, first of all, customize the ringtone that will sound when the person calls (line Alarm) and do the same with the vibrations by choosing the section Call vibration.

The real novelty slips into the section call background.
- On the window that appears, press the icon Background at the bottom of the page.
- You can choose fixed or animated backgrounds offered by Samsung.

These are nice, but not real customization. Go further.
- Tap the icon + at the top right of the window.
- Here you can choose between embedding a photo or video from your gallery or an avatar animation.
- In the first case, you simply choose the photo or video of your choice from your gallery.
- In the second case, if you already have an avatar created, just select it and assign an animation to it. Otherwise, you will have to create the character beforehand.
