On the second day of August this year, the company announced the launch of two new solar energy solutions for communities with little or no access to energy.
The new solar products are designed to withstand extensive use for a wide range of power needs. They expand Schneider’s portfolio of products and solutions that are intended to help achieve the United Nations 2030 goal of universal access to energy.
According to the World Bank, 733 million people around the world remain without access to electricity. Africa’s population remains the least electrified in the world: 568 million people across the continent lack access to electricity.
The launch of the product coincided with the 2022 Energy Access Investment Forum of the Alliance for Rural Electricity (ARE), held in Dar es Salaam (Tanzania) from June 28 to 30, in which representatives of the public and private sectors, including Schneider Electric, as part of continued active support to achieve a sustainable energy future for all.

The new Homaya Pro hybrid solar inverter converts direct current electricity into alternating current for use in stand-alone or grid-connected systems. You can power the energy needs of a home or small business, with 3, 4 or 6 kilowatt solutions. It provides reliable access to renewable energy for homes, service stations, small offices, healthcare facilities, schools and telecommunications infrastructure.
The Homaya Pro inverter is powered by solar energy with a built-in Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) controller. It is compatible with mains charging and supports lead or lithium battery technologies. Up to 6 inverters can be connected in parallel for a combined power of up to 24 kilowatts. Optional accessories include an external MPPT to expand the solar array by one or three kilowatts and increase standby capacity, and a WiFi dongle to enable local Internet monitoring without a mobile app.
