Spotify Premium is going to increase its price from SeptemberThe company has begun notifying users in Argentina about the increase in the price of the different Spotify Premium plans, and this is the second time that the platform has raised its prices so far this year.
In addition, the price increase is around 90%, so the cost of the service will almost double in the country. For example, The price of the subscription to the Premium Family plan will go from 2,199 pesos to 4,199 pesos. This price must be added to the various taxes that apply to this type of service, which increases the final price by an additional 59%.
This is how Spotify prices are changing in Argentina
Spotify has raised its price a total of four times between 2023 and 2024. The price of the family plan in February-March 2023 increased from 489 pesos to 649 pesos. Then, in August of that same year, just five months later, the price rose to 999 pesos. And this year, last March, the service suffered its third price increase, up to 2,199 pesos. All of these prices must be added to the corresponding taxes.
Now, Spotify has raised its price again in the country, almost doubling the cost of the service.
These are the new Spotify prices in Argentina:
- Individual: 2,499 pesos (previously 1,299 pesos)
- Duo: 3,299 pesos (previously 1,699 pesos)
- Familiar: 4,199 pesos (previously 2,199 pesos)
- Students: 1,299 pesos (previously 699 pesos)
As we mentioned, These prices must be added to the current and corresponding taxes.which between VAT and the various withholdings represents an additional 59% on the base value. This means that, at the time of writing these lines, the new final price with taxes of Spotify Premium is about 4,000 pesos for the Individual plan, about 5,300 pesos for the Duo plan and approximately 6,750 pesos for the Family plan.
According to Spotify in its communication to users, the increase in the price of the different Spotify Premium plans is intended to “continue investing and innovating in our product and feature offering, and to provide the best experience.” The company recently raised the subscription price in other countries as well.
Users who already have an existing Spotify Premium subscription will be affected by the new prices starting in September. However, the new Premium prices are already available to users who sign up for a new subscription.
