This information is an option offered by the platform, as are the other fields such as contact information, studies or the status of the personal relationship. However, Meta has decided to eliminate this information which is found in the section Contact and basic information.
Matt Navarra, a social networking consultant, reported that Facebook will give its users the opportunity to download a copy of the data they keep stored on the social network, including these fields, before December 1.
For Meta, the privacy of users is an important concern for the company. Therefore, the elimination of this information joins other decisions related to privacy, such as private chats and the increase in security.
For Facebook, these changes are part of its efforts to “make the platform easier to navigate and use,” according to information provided by its spokesperson. “This change does not affect anyone’s ability to share this information about themselves elsewhere on Facebook,” he said.
