Because a screen at Apple is not a simple screen, the Studio Display has its own software version and its A13 Bionic chip to offer maximum performance. At the same time as the other betas published this evening, the Cupertino company is deploying the second beta 15.5 for its Studio Display!
A developer exclusive for now
Studio Display owners who are also developers can download right now the 15.5 beta 2 update dedicated to the high-end screen.
Unsurprisingly, the new version is entirely based on iOS and finds itself powered by theA13 Bionic which is at the heart of the screen components.
As a reminder, the first beta focused on a fix webcam image, the colors have become less pale, the contrast is now better and the overall look is a bit more lively. Depending on the lighting, there wasn’t a big difference in sharpness.
For the moment, it is not possible to know what improvements are included with this new beta which has been available for less than an hour. It is likely that Apple’s developers and engineers have continued work around the webcamit must be said that this was the “unfortunate” point of almost all the tests of the media and influencers.
How do I download the new software version for the Studio Display?
At first, it is essential to be a developer.
If you are, the update is waiting for you in the same place as new versions of macOS.
In other words, you have to follow this path:
- Click on the apple at the top left of the screen
- Go to System Preferences
- Go to Software update
All you have to do is accept the general conditions, start the download and then the installation.
Making the new software available to all users with the Studio Display shouldn’t take a long time.
