Between the second season of ‘Foundation’, ‘Silo’ and the first reviews of ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’, Apple TV+ is marking a very good quality 2023 for all subscribers to the service. And watch out, they’re not over: here comes Idris Elba with a thriller that can keep us in suspense this summer.
The actor stars in ‘mid-air hijacking‘, (‘Hijack’ as original title), which will narrate in several episodes the hijacking of a plane in mid-flight transoceanic. Sam Nelson, the main character, will try to negotiate between the passengers and the kidnappers to avoid a disaster.
A kidnapping in the style of ’24’
Nelson is not going to be a policeman or a professional negotiator, but a company executive who will have to apply the creativity of his work in order to survive. He will have the help of Archie Panjabi, who will play an anti-terrorist agent who will help Elba from London.
Another interesting point is that the series will narrate the events in real time, a bit ’24’ style, in order to generate more tension and realism while the events take place. The flight lasts seven hours, so we will have tension for a while. The cast is completed by Christine Adams, Max Beesley, Eve Myles, Neil Maskell, Jasper Britton, Harry Michell, Aimee Kelly, Mohamed Elsandel and Ben Miles.
We will be able to see the first two chapters of ‘Kidnapping in the air’ Wednesday June 28, thereafter one episode will air every week until reaching the last one on Wednesday, August 2. Of course, the series will only be available to Apple TV+ subscribers.
