1. Little Apocalypse (August 22, 1509)
Due to being one of the most devastating disasters in the history of Istanbul, this earthquake, which is described as the Little Apocalypse, gives figures between 5,000 and 15 thousand regarding the number of people who lost their lives.
The fact that the earthquake occurred at night has been shown as an important reason for the loss of life to be so high. In the earthquake of 1509, in which the aftershocks continued for a month and a half, over 100 mosques, Masjids, 1100 houses and an unknown number of shops were completely destroyed.
