With the presentation of the new range of Ryzen AI 300 APUthe Raden 890M arrived, an integrated graphics card that offers excellent performance, performance far superior to what we can find in the Intel Core 7 Ultra 155H (offering almost double the FPS) as we showed you a few days ago, being an excellent option today on the market.
However, that’s not all. Thanks to the good work that AMD has done with this new APU, and thanks to the community, we can see a test that compares the performance of AMD Radeon 890M with the GTX 1650 from NVIDIA.
AMD Radeon 890M vs GTX 1650
This new integrated graphics card not only offers better performance numbers in most games, but also does so while consuming much less energy. To perform the test, a laptop with a 16GB RAM was used. ASUS VivoBook 16 (model M5606WA) with the AMD Ryzen AI 9 370 HX APU accompanied by 32 GB of RAM type LPDDR5X at 7500 MHz
The equipment used to perform the test was managed by the processor AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D paired with the NVIDIA GTX 1650 with 4GB of video memory, with two 16GB DDT4-400 memory modules. To be honest, I could have used the same type of RAM in the desktop computer, as the results would probably not have been the same. If you want to see the result of the test, you can see the video available on YouTube below.
In titles as demanding as Cyberpunk 2077, AMD’s new APU was up to 45% faster than the GTX, a figure very similar to that obtained with Forza Horizon 5 at high settings. With Robocop, AMD’s new APU was twice as fast as NVIDIA’s GTX while other titles like Tom Raider (2013) and Devil May Cry 5.
Although the architecture of this APU, RDNA 3.5, is relatively new and can still be exploited a lot through updates, at the moment the potential it offers as a newcomer to the market is excellent, making them an excellent option today, especially for laptops.
Although it has been on the market for a few years now and since the beginning of this year, NVIDIA has stopped manufacturing the GTX 1650, today, it is still one of the most used graphics cards by Steam users, due to its excellent performance in most of the latest, although, obviously, it is not the latest generation. To play first or third person FPS titles such as Fortnite, Apex Legends, Warzone either PUBG It is more than enough, even for games that have been on the market for a few years.
Considering the excellent performance offered by the Raden 890M included in the new AI processor AMD’s graphics card makes this an excellent option to consider if we plan to replace our old PC with a new one and our gaming needs are fair, as it will not be necessary to buy an additional external graphics card.
