Instead, it makes more sense to use Two general Android options that help a lot to save data And, by the way, battery. As usual, they are very easy to use but the most difficult thing is to find where it is hidden in each mobile.
data saving mode
If you want to save data, the first thing that comes to mind is obviously the data saving mode. It has been on Android as standard for a few years now, so it is almost certain that you will have it on your mobile. The only difficulty lies to find how to activate it.
The official path is as follows: open Android settings, enter inside Network and Internettap on data saving and then turn on the switch. This is one of the menus that the layers tend to change places the most, so it is possible that it is called differently or it is not exactly there. Lean on the settings finder to find it and, in addition, you will often find the data saving mode as a quick setting.
data saving mode prevent some apps from sending or receiving data in the background, while in others it reduces the frequency with which they do so. The app that you have open at that moment – that is, in the foreground – can access the data as usual.
Best of all, you can adjust it to prevent restrictions from applying to all apps. After activating the switch, the section appears just below Unrestricted data. Entering it you have the option to prevent certain apps from receiving restrictions in data saving mode, by checking the switch to its left.
Data saver mode drastically reduces data usage in the background, but it also helps you to save battery, as these background apps will also perform fewer tasks. It will not be a radical change, but everything helps.
The data in the background
What if you only have an app that eats your data and without even having it open? In this case, another option that you will find in relatively recent versions of Android may be useful: disable background data.
To do this, you must go to the application information window of a specific application (you can do it with a long touch or from Settings > Applications) and enter Mobile data and Wi-Fi. uncheck then background data and now you have it.
Unlike data saver mode, which applies to all apps except the ones you choose, this setting allows you to prevent a particular app from using mobile data when not active. Again, this results in data and, to a lesser degree, battery savings.
