And now the opposite is happening: It is WhatsApp that seems determined to refresh its applications more vigorously; even if it is with options similar to those of Telegram itself, such as channels. WhatsApp channels in more than 150 countries
After a localized test in very specific territories, such as Colombia and Singapore, WhatsApp officially communicates the deployment to the rest of the world. Specifically, the channels will be available through the applications for iPhone and Android starting today, September 13.
WhatsApp channels allow users who wish to sign up to receive news on specific topics to share information. For example, you can sign up for a recipe, music or any other channel that will surely appear today. As is obvious, you can also create your own WhatsApp channel: To do this, just go to the relevant tab that will appear as the news expands to all users.
Channels are a dissemination tool that, according to WhatsApp, maintains maximum privacy. You can sign up for the channels, Search directories directly from the WhatsApp application and, if you create your own channel, soon you will be able to edit all the messages sent in order to correct the information that has been posted. Always within a period of 30 calendar days.

WhatsApp channels will appear in your application as the “Updates” tab, in the bottom menu of the app. Once you enter that tab you will have the option to locate channels through the directory. And, as you sign up for the distribution lists, you will receive each new message you receive in “Updates”. From the WhatsApp settings you could silence the channels so that they are not confused with the private messaging notifications.
