It is already well known to all that the shopping basket has become more expensive in recent months (prices have risen by 15.2%)causing us to have to be very careful buying some products or others in different supermarkets, trying to choose the best offers of market.
However, there seems to be some Supermarket than another that they have decided to inflate prices more than others and the OCU arrives to inform us. They talk about the biggest increases in the 34 years of this price study.
With this it seems that now each euro counts and, according to the OCU, buying in the market most expensive or cheapest It can lead to a saving of 994 euros.
To carry out the study, The OCU has visited 1,180 supermarkets in 65 cities, in addition to online supermarkets, and has analyzed 173,392 prices of a shopping basket of 239 items that includes fresh food, packaged food, hygiene products and drugstore, both manufacturer brands and private labels.
OCU analyzes 1,180 supermarkets, 65 cities and four baskets in search of the best offers
First they wanted to focus on certain products and the results are surprising: 95% of the products collected in our baskets have become more expensive compared to the prices we wrote down a year ago. The largest increases occurred in sunflower oil (+118%) and olive oil (+53%), flour (+50%) and all its derivatives, such as pasta (+56%) or muffins (+75 %).
There is only a small group of 12 products that have registered price drops. Some belong to the hygiene category (shampoo -5%) and others are fruits such as avocado (-10%) and kiwi (-6%).
As for supermarkets, there are two that take the gold to the most expensive: Dia and Mercadona. These two supermarkets are the ones that have increased the prices of products the most (between 10 and 15%). On the contrary, those that rose the least were Alimerka (8.4%), Carrefour Express (8.5%) and BM Urban (8.8%).
The cheapest chains are Tifer, Dani and Family Cash, whose publicity has always been very positive. Alcampo is another year as the cheapest national chain. On the opposite side are Amazon, Novavenda, Ulabox and Sánchez Romero as the most expensive chains.
As we can see, always watching over our safety. And it is that, the OCU (Organization of Consumers and Users), as we are already seeing, looks after the interests of consumers, carrying out campaigns of advertisingsuch as some related to excessive price increases, such as the electricity rate, scams in shops or the contamination of products.
