If you have ever thought about devoting yourself to be a driving school teacheryou're in luck, because the General Directorate of Traffic has announced a new edition of its course to obtain certification.
Below we will tell you the mechanics of the course and what you have to do to be one of the hundreds of aspiring driving school teachers.
New driving school teacher course
The DGT has launched a new edition of the course for those who wish to obtain the Certificate of Aptitude for Road Training Teacher, better known as a driving school teacher. For this, as we can see in the publication in the BOE of the callinterested parties must sign up for this eliminatory contest.
The course is made up of two different phases, one remote and one in person, both being eliminatory in nature. In the first of them, an agenda that revolves around the following topics will be studied:
- Rules and regulatory signs for road traffic.
- Road safety issues. Traffic accidents.
- General regulation of vehicles and especially heavy vehicles, transportation of people and goods, priority and special.
- Automobile insurance.
- Regulations that regulate driving licenses, their classes and the aptitude tests to be carried out to obtain them.
- Regulations that regulate learning to drive and those of driver training centers.
- Pedagogy and Psychology applied to driving.
- Simple car mechanics and entertainment.
- Behavior and first aid in case of accident
Subsequently, once the corresponding evaluations have been passed, the second part will have to be taught at the center where the course is held and which will only be attended by applicants who pass all the subjects in the distance learning phase. Here the Estimated duration will be 10 weeks and will be held in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, León, Madrid, Murcia, Palma de Mallorca, Seville, Valencia and Zaragoza.
Access requirements
One of the best things about this new course from the General Directorate of Traffic is that no need for higher educationso it can be a great employment opportunity for many people.
Specifically, it only requires the Compulsory Secondary Education (ESO) to be able to take it or other comparable studies, such as Intermediate Vocational Training. Additionally, the interested party will have to be in possession of a type B driving license (for a car) for a minimum of two years and present a certificate that demonstrates being in full psychophysical condition to dedicate themselves professionally to practical teaching in driving schools.
For the candidacy to be considered valid, the model 791 which can be seen in the annex to the publication of the Official State Gazette. Furthermore, it will be necessary pay the fees corresponding either online at the electronic headquarters of the General Directorate of Traffic or by going to the Provincial Headquarters or Traffic Office or to a financial entity, having to subsequently bring the duly validated “Copy for the Administration” to a Traffic Headquarters.
