Polestar has just unveiled the Polestar 6. It’s actually the O2 roadster concept, which will go on sale in 2026 for $200,000.
Polestar, certainly one of Tesla’s biggest challengers, announces that its O2 electric 2+2 roadster concept car will be the Polestar 6. As a reminder, this concept car was unveiled in Los Angeles in March 2022 under the name Polestar O₂ , it builds on the ambitions on the Polestar Precept and represents Polestar’s vision for a sports car of the future.
From 2026 from 200,000 dollars
The launch of the Polestar 6 Electric Performance Roadster is thus announced for 2026. It will be based on a bonded aluminum platform. Developed in-house, this platform incorporates the powerful 800-volt electrical architecture already confirmed for the Polestar 5. Enough to ensure very fast fast charging, like the Porsche Taycan or the Kia EV6 and Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6.
For the electric convertible, the target is an output of up to 650 kW (884 hp) and a torque of 900 Nm. The vehicle will have a two-motor transmission and will reach a 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds as well as a top speed of 250 km/h. Autonomy should exceed 600 kilometers WLTP, in the same order of magnitude as the Tesla Roadster second edition.
We also learn that 500 numbered copies of a special “LA Concept” version will be produced under the name “Polestar 6 LA Concept edition”. This one will sport exclusively the “sky blue” exterior, the light leather interior and the special 21-inch rims of the concept car original Polestar O₂. It is possible to reserve one of its copies now, subject to a deposit of $25,000.
Several new photos have been unveiled on Facebook, we can see the famous yellow belt usual at Polestar in a very sober white interior.
The Polestar 6 one day in France?
As a reminder, the Sino-Swedish car manufacturer, attached to the Volvo brand and the Geely group, is prohibited in France. Stellantis makes sure that Polestar is blocked because of its logo which looks too much like those of Citroën and DS Automobiles.
