To give a second life to a PC that is rowing harder and harder, nothing better than an NVMe SSD which will, on the one hand, enlarge your storage space and considerably reduce loading times, on the other hand. One of the high-end references on the market, the Corsair MP600 Pro XT, is currently at 169.99 euros instead of 214.99 euros in its 2 TB version.
To store even more games in your PC, here is an NVMe SSD that excels in both read and write speeds and thermal management. The Corsair MP600 Pro XT may look like a chocolate bar at first glance, but it’s actually its heat sink, which is larger than the norm. At the moment, the 2 TB version of this NVMe SSD is benefiting from a discount of 45 euros on the official Corsair website.
The Corsair MP600 Pro XT in brief
- A read speed of 7,100 MB/s
- An efficient heat sink
- 2 TB storage
Instead of the usual 214.99 euros, the Corsair MP600 Pro XT (2 TB) is now available on sale at 169.99 euros in the official store.
An SSD with excellent performance
NVMe SSDs are the latest generation of this storage solution, succeeding the SATA SSD which did not go beyond a read speed of 600 MB/s. With the Corsair MP600 Pro XT which is in PCIe Gen4 x4, you’ll enjoy a read speed of 7100MB/s and a write speed of 6800MB/s, which is about 12 times faster than the highest performing SATA SSD. Thanks to these speeds, you can launch video games from the SSD and have almost non-existent loading times.
In addition to performance, the Corsair MP600 Pro XT was built to last. The American manufacturer has endowed it with a guarantee of 5 years or 1400 TBW (TeraBytes Writing) to the first of the two terms due. This is in the high range and in practice it will take you at least several years to reach this limit.
You can use it for your PS5 but…
With its huge aluminum heat sink, you can imagine that the thermal management is optimal, but what is supposed to be the major asset of this SSD is also its biggest flaw. The heatsink is too big to fit in a PS5, at 19mm thick it easily exceeds Sony’s recommended 11mm limit. Removing the heatsink to fit only the SSD into the console is possible, but this would deprive you of heat dissipation and the 5-year warranty on the other.
If you have a PS5, we prefer to direct you to the Corsair MP600 Pro LPX, the latter has the same performance as the MP600 Pro XT and its dimensions have been specially cut to fit in the Sony console. Still, with the MP600 Pro XT, we have exemplary performance, endurance and thermal management. Let’s end all the same on a small black point, nothing dramatic: the companion software which allows you to have an eye on the state of health of the MP600 Pro XT has an interface that remained stuck in the early 2000s.
