The Vivo X90 Pro Plus is releasing today in China. This is the first phone to feature Qualcomm’s new high-end chip.
Like every year, the presentation conference of Qualcomm’s latest SoC, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, signaled the start of a merciless race between manufacturers. After the respective announcements of future flagships that will be equipped with it comes the time for the first phone officially on the market running with the new chip.
Release in France unlikely
This June 6, 2022, Vivo wins the prize with the Vivo X90 Pro Plus, we learn GizmoChina. As a reminder, the device does not yet have a release date announced in Europe, and it is not at all certain that the manufacturer is ready to bring it to our market.
Indeed, the brand had skipped a generation between the Vivo X60 and the Vivo X80 Pro, it is not excluded that it will do the same in view of the inflationary context. Remember that for brands with still modest ambitions, flagships are more of a loss leader, a showcase, than a real way to make money. It is therefore an investment that involves its risks.
Also remember that the Chinese manufacturer occupies a very different place in the land of the setting sun, where it is neck and neck with Honor for the number 1 spot, where its arrival in France only dates back two short years.
