In your head you may have doubts about how it differs from the ‘non-Pro’ version. And it is that the Mi Band 7 is also very recent. And although we were able to make one more comprehensive comparison between the two when the ‘Pro’ was launched in China, we review below what are the most differentiating elements between both.
Design: just by looking at them you know they are different
Accustomed to seeing smartphones with few differences in design beyond the size in their ‘Pro’ and standard versions, the truth is that the Mi Band 7 and Band 7 Pro do have obvious aesthetic differences. The form factor, size and weight are the most fundamental.
Though both share AMOLED technology for display, the Band 7’s is narrower at 1.62-inches diagonal, while the Band 7 Pro is 1.64-inches diagonal. In terms of weight, the standard tends to be a little lighter at 13.5 grams compared to the 20.5 of the ‘Pro’, although it’s not like this can be classified as “heavy” either.
It should also be noted that the function ‘Always On Display’ is exclusive to the Mi Band 7 Pro. Thus, the screen can be kept on with a lower brightness and lower consumption when not in use. The Mi Band 7 will turn off completely when it is in sleep.
Battery: better in the ‘Pro’, although the normal one does not fall short
Smart bracelets, and more particularly those of Xiaomi, have traditionally stood out for their autonomy. In the case of Mi Band 7 we find a 180 mAh battery. Not bad considering its small size. The greater space that her older sister has allows her to have a 235mAh capacity.
This, in real terms and at least according to the manufacturer, allows the Band 7 reaches 12 days of autonomy and the ‘Pro’ 15 days. Of course, the benefits go down a little more with intensive use, staying the normal one in 6 days and the ‘Pro’ in 9.
GPS sensor: the great absence in the Smart Band 7
We already anticipated it in that subtitle and it is that the Smart Band 7 Pro incorporates GPS and the normal version does not. Thus, this standard version will lack specific functions in relation to route tracking during sports and the like.
Of course, it can be said that this is the differential sensor, since both share many other sensors such as health, highlighting heart rate or blood oxygen saturation. The same happens with the accelerometer and the gyroscope, both with three axes.
Price: the determining factor in many cases
Unsurprisingly, these bracelets do not sell for the same price. Among them there is a difference of 40 euros which, depending on which cases, can end up being definitive. If we stick to the official prices given by Xiaomi itself, the Smart Band 7 costs 59.99 euros, while the Smart Band 7 Pro is worth 99.99 euros. Now, there are also some discounts in many stores, including Xiaomi itself.
