If the Samsung Galaxy S23 has just been launched, its predecessor, the S22, remains a safe bet. It is even becoming even more recommendable now thanks to its price, which goes from 809 euros to 519 euros at SFR and RED by SFR. It’s only a few euros more than the new Galaxy A54 released today.
Earlier this year, Samsung unveiled its all-new Galaxy S23. However, this highly anticipated release does not mean that its predecessor, the Galaxy S22, is already outdated, quite the contrary. The former flagship of the brand, equipped with a 120 Hz screen and a good power, remains a reference that we warmly recommend. And, this is even more the case at the moment since it costs the price of a good mid-range smartphone from 2023.
The highlights of the Samsung Galaxy S22

Where to buy the
Samsung Galaxy S22 at the best price?
An OLED screen that has its little effect
Who says premium smartphone, says (normally) ultra-neat finishes. The Samsung Galaxy S22 fulfills this mission with its smooth glass back allergic to fingerprints, its aluminum edge or even its premium and very refined overall appearance. The S22 also has the advantage of being rather compact with its 6.1-inch screen, a diagonal that allows you to slip the smartphone into a pocket easily.
But one of the main advantages of this design is still this AMOLED panel, framed by very thin borders, and equipped with a Full HD + definition (2,340 x 1,080 pixels). This screen also benefits from an adaptive refresh rate that can go up to 120 Hz, guaranteeing very fluid navigation and display. Everything is also protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus, a very resistant glass.
Good power and a versatile photo module
On the power side, the Galaxy S22 is powered by an Exynos 2200 SoC engraved in 4 nm (and 5G compatible), which offers good performance in multitasking. Powerful applications will run without a hitch. Unfortunately, the results are less good in terms of graphics performance, and some slowdowns are to be expected on certain games, such as Fortnite. Android 12, with the One UI 4 interface, promises a very fluid user experience.
What about his photo abilities? It must be said that the Samsung Galaxy S22 scores points thanks to its three 50 + 12 + 10 megapixel sensors (wide-angle, ultra-wide-angle and x3 telephoto) nestled on the left edge of the device. The smartphone therefore provides great versatility, with a special mention for the good level of detail spotted on the shots captured by the main sensor. In short, we have a good photophone here, even if its management of the dynamic range is sometimes uneven on several lenses, as we noticed during our test.
Average autonomy
One of the only downsides of the S22 is indeed its autonomy, as was already the case for other Galaxy S. Indeed, its 3,700 mAh battery will not allow the smartphone to last a full day. with intensive use. However, we can console ourselves with fast charging (up to 25 W) and wireless charging, which are present, but we must take care to keep our charger near you, just in case.
