Just yesterday, the new Pixel 9 from the latest generation of Google smartphones were presented. Among them is the big surprise of the return of the Pixel XL and many were eagerly awaiting its performance. It turns out that the Pixel 9 Pro XL has the same processor as the other versions, although this does not necessarily mean that it is a bad mobile.
The Google Pixel 9 Pro XL has already been performance tested And the truth is that the result has surprised many users. Many have taken advantage of the situation to make fun of the American company and the truth is that I don’t understand the criticisms even though the difference in performance with other phones is obvious.
Pixel 9 Pro XL AnTuTu tests
The performance tests of the Tensor G4 processor for the phones that make up the Pixel 9 series are gradually being revealed. In this sense, it is worth noting that despite all being equipped with the same chipset, they do not have the same power because it is specifically optimized for each model. The Google Pixel 9 Pro XL is the brand’s most ambitious phone in 2024 and the AnTuTu scores have revealed a very striking aspect.
The Pixel 9 Pro XL gets a 1950 score in single-core performance tests, as well as 4655 points in the tests of all the processor cores. To get a quick idea of what these figures mean, you can compare with Apple iPhone 12 introduced in 2020, which obtained a score of 2125 and 4828 respectively.
Does this mean that the Pixel 9 Pro XL is disappointing in terms of performance? Well, it doesn’t have anything to do with it. These Figures are not 100% representative of what a smartphone can offer, in a similar way to what happens with the number of megapixels in a phone’s camera. A 200 MP mobile phone does not necessarily take better photos than a 12 MP one, and the same thing happens with AnTuTu tests.
The power of the Google Pixel 9 Pro XL is perfect for the most demanding apps and games, while at the same time offering ideal optimization to fully squeeze the unique features of Google phones when it comes to editing and integrated artificial intelligence. The Pixel 9 Pro XL has a performance like any other high-endwhere the difference in speed is practically imperceptible.
My own experience with a Pixel
Less than a month ago I bought the Pixel 8a to get a feel for the Pixel experience. This model features the previous generation Tensor G3 processor and is also feels like high-end performance having cost less than 400 euros on sale. The tests show that it is below other phones, such as the iPhone 12 mentioned above, but the truth is that everything runs like a rocket, both games and the editing functions of Google Photos…
My advice is that No one should be carried away by these figuresbut by the results. The best thing to do is to check out the experiences of other users and watch live videos where the phone is tested in different situations. This will show you whether it is a truly powerful mobile phone or not.
