DXoMark, the reference evaluation site in the field of smartphone benchmarks, has changed its ranking of the best smartphones for photography. Dethroned by the Honor Magic5 Pro, the Huawei Mate 50 is no longer the best photophone on the market.
If you wanted to acquire the best smartphone for photography, you had to choose between the Huawei Mate 50 Pro, and without Google Mobile Services, or the Pixel 7 Pro. The new DxOMark ranking now places the Honor Magic5 Pro at the top of this hierarchy. The device freshly landed on our shelves not only has the better camera, but also better screen.
The Magic5 Pro is a high-end smartphone that punches in the same category as the Galaxy S23 Ultra or the Xiaomi 13 Pro, in the Android ecosystem, and the iPhone 14 Pro, at Apple. The proposal of the Chinese brand has something to seduce. In addition to being powerful, with its Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, and featuring an original design, the Honor Magic5 Pro has the best arguments to convince lovers of beautiful images. The DxOMark laboratories have passed it to the test bench and confirm it: it takes remarkable pictures.
The Magic5 Pro’s camera offers excellent performance on all 5 test points photo from the lab. Better still, it obtains the best scores on three criteria: Photo (154 points), Zoom (156), and Bokeh (80). It is not in the lead, neither on the Visualization, nor on the Preview, of the areas in which the iPhone 14 Pro Max remains the absolute reference. This does not prevent it from stealing first place in the ranking from the Huawei Mate 50, with 152 points.

The screen of the Honor Magic5 Pro also stands out. If he never gets the best score on the six display parameters measured, namely, Readability, Movement, Color, Touch, Video and Artifacts, he still scores enough points (151) to accumulate the largest total on the board. However, the competition at this level is very fierce.
