From heaven to hell, and back to the main stage againHuawei is now the great technological hope of its country. China continues to overcome the blows from the US in the form of trade bans that first took away its processors from firms such as Qualcomm and now prevent it from manufacturing advanced chips. It is its main bottleneck in a particular race towards technological self-sufficiency.
Last year, the Asian manufacturer surprised the world with its Huawei Mate 60 Pro, a terminal that intensified tensions due to its banned components, such as the Kirin 9000S processor, which, although it did not shine in terms of performance, represented an important advance for the firm and its nation. It is time to meet a highly anticipated successor, the Huawei Mate 70 Prowhose launch is imminent.
New controversy in sight? Here’s everything we know about the Huawei Mate 70 Pro
It has not been the only high-end phone signed by Huawei in recent times: the Huawei Pura 70, Pura 70 Pro, Pura 70 Pro+ and Pura 70 Ultra equip the next chip from HiSiliconHuawei’s own semiconductor division. For this year they have brought a Kirin 9010 about which there is not much information, although the performance tests are once again a hard reality check for the Chinese industry.
For this final stretch of 2024, the flagship terminal is none other than the successor of the aforementioned Mate 60 Pro, a Huawei Mate 70 Pro that will mean a considerable update and of course, a constant watch from the industry, which will closely analyze the hardware of this.
Various local media are already pointing to changes in Huawei’s next flagship: the Mate 70 Pro will slightly vary its camera module. While it remains circular, with that characteristic appearance, it will now include the letters “AI-DC” that invites us to think of photographic advances based on artificial intelligence.
On the other hand, the LED flash is no longer at the top of the module but at the bottom edge. Now, in relation to the specifications of these cameras, we have more information: the front camera raises the stakes, from 32 to 48 megapixels. On the back, the Mate 70 Pro makes room for three high-resolution sensors:
- Main sensor of 60 megapixels.
- 48 megapixel ultra wide angle.
- 48 megapixel telephoto.
What’s up with the SoC? According to the latest rumours, the Huawei Pura 70’s Kirin 9010 will be used in this smartphone. It has a higher processing power than the Kirin 9000S, but is still far from rivals such as Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8. It is official that the device will be released in the fourth quarter of this year, so we are in the final stretch until its launch.
As if that were not enough, other information coming from Asia indicates that this mobile will use more components manufactured in China. Although its processor is not new, other hardware elements may bother users. USAwhich does not rest in its desire to clip the wings of one of the most reputable manufacturers until a few years ago.
