Small changes with cumulative effect
Today’s leak comes from McGuire Wood (via 9to5mac). In a twitter thread the leaker, who has already been successful in the past with several predictions, now tells us about the colors of the new iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro. Colors that, according to their sources, look like this:
- iPhone 14: green, purple, blue, black, white and red.
- iPhone 14 Pro: green, purple, silver, gold and graphite.
Here we see how the pink variant of the iPhone 14 gives way to the purple model, while in the iPhone 14 Pro it is the Sierra Blue color which is replaced by purple. A color, let’s remember, that Apple presented exclusively for the iPhone 12.
According to the leaker, Apple was testing titanium as a material for the iPhone 14 Pro, but, in the end, it was decided to use the same materials as in the iPhone 13 Pro due to the cost of working with such a hard material. What will change, slightly, is the MagSafe charging system, which will now have somewhat stronger magnets. The reason for this, according to the thread posted on twitter, is that the new MagSafe Battery will be larger and heavier.
In addition, the iPhone 14 will be able to charge at “30 W or more during the first part of the charge cycle”, then “the speed will be reduced to 27 or 25 W”. A substantial improvement for those times when we need to charge our iPhone quickly.
With everything, and always remembering that we are talking about rumours, it seems that the iPhone 14 will bring several small changes that, cumulatively, represent an interesting evolution. Anyway nothing is official until we see it in the presentation Apple in September, but what is clear is that we can get some surprises.
